SB 702, LVT Study, is on its Way to the House!
It’s off to the House for LVT study bill!
The Senate passed SB 702 April 4 with resounding bipartisan support: only one nay vote from a Republican.
We’re grateful for a growing team effort to move this LVT study bill ahead as legislators debate new taxation legislation.
We anticipate that it will get a first reading next week and have a hearing in the Revenue Committee within a couple of weeks, since it has shown strong bipartisan support. Given that Revenue has a new chair, Rep. Nancy Nathanson (D-Eugene) , we’re optimistic it will receive a prompt hearing.
In the meantime, please send comments to the committee administrator ([email protected]) and your representative in support of the study bill, perhaps emphasizing the potential economic solution to affordable housing supply, given that a lower rate on improvements leads to greater supply and mitigation of land price inflation.
